Find the Perfect Fit for Your Child’s Schedule and Interests
At Performers Theatre Workshop, Expert Faculty Train the Total Performer in a Caring, Non-Competitive Environment
At Performers Theatre Workshop, we’ve spent over 40 years building a warm, supportive, culturally rich community where children of all ages and levels can find friendship, build confidence, and develop the skills that last a lifetime.
PTW celebrates all students, from our complete beginners to our professional performers. We believe in matching individual students with the age group AND experience level that meets their needs and supports their comfort. Working with each student and their guardian(s), we customize a unique program based on goals, interests, age, and skill-building. This critical step helps maximize every PTW student’s experience and facilitate a positive learning environment that fosters professional breakthroughs & personal growth.
Our school focuses on fun & learning in a kind, non-competitive atmosphere. PTW students feel free to take risks, try new things, experiment with their ideas, and soar to new heights! Founded in 1981 by Juilliard graduates Esther and Howard Kravitz, PTW provides top training from a faculty of conservatory-trained experts, each hand chosen by Dean Kravitz, our Executive Artistic Director. All PTW instructors share their expertise from diverse professional resumes; at the same time, they scaffold student training to ensure each young performer reaches their personal next level in a positive, nurturing & supportive environment.
With more 100 classes, private lessons, masterclasses, summer programs, and performance opportunities — each geared to building different performing arts skills — PTW offers every student the opportunity to excel and achieve their personal goals. Class sizes are small, enabling students to receive one-on-one attention as part of the in-class experience. Plus, teachers employ differentiated instruction techniques to support every student at every level.
Situated in Millburn, New Jersey, PTW proudly serves as a theater home for performers from all over the state, including Essex, Morris, and Union Counties, and students in the greater Tristate area. Our comprehensive approach and welcoming atmosphere have established us as the #1 New Jersey Performing Arts School.

Top Reasons to Choose PTW for your Child
Why Performers Theatre Workshop
- Quality of instruction really does matter; mediocre instruction often leads to bad habits that get in the way of your child reaching their potential and their performing arts goals.
- Your child will learn accurate techniques from someone who has worked in the highest professional settings. Thorough knowledge of the subject and knowing how to teach it effectively means the straightest route to growth and progress.
- Students feel lucky that they can learn acting from a teacher who starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, study musical theatre from the star of Mary Poppins on Broadway, or master tap from a dancer who danced with Savion Glover & Gregory Hines.
