What can you achieve when you have the tools and professional guidance you need to create your own original repertoire? Through this customized program, you’ll discover new and compelling ways to realize – and express – your personal vision as a songwriter.
Our comprehensive program offers weekly 45-minute group workshops and one-on-one private lessons focused on the craft of songwriting for singers and/or instrumentalists. You’ll build your songwriting skills as you learn:
– Different types of chord progressions,
– Varied song forms,
– Techniques for interesting melodic development,
– Options for simple but powerful instrumental arranging,
– Strategies for lyric-writing and lyric-refining,
– How to write out accurate chord charts Skills for DAW (digital audio workstation)
– Production on GarageBand and Logic Pro X.
You’ll work closely with music professionals who’ll help you hone your craft and create performance-ready original repertoire.
In addition to writing songs and learning new skills, students will enjoy plenty of occasions to collaborate meaningfully with one another, as well as live performance opportunities, including an Open Mic Night/Coffee House Set.
Plus, you’ll receive the opportunity to record an original piece of your choosing with pro-level instrumentalists in PTW’s state-of-the-art recording studio at the end of the spring semester. By the end of the program, you and your classmates may wish to play some or all of the instruments yourself!

Dean has composed, orchestrated and sung/played for over 150 National and Regional TV/Radio commercials for major advertising agencies in NY, Boston, Dallas, and California for products such as Pepsi, Toys R Us, McDonalds, Reebock, Motorola, Lady Footlocker, Hefty, Blue Cross/Blue Shield & Clairol. Dean has composed, orchestrated and arranged music for several cartoons on Nickelodeon’s “Nick Jr.”, as well as the music that premiered the TV Land network
Danny Greenberg is a proud graduate of the Boston Conservatory. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater. he has worked both regionally and in New York. As a songwriter, he has performed at many venues in New York and just recently released his first LP Morning Song on iTunes and Spotify.
Meghan LaFlam is a thoroughbred thespian and musical theatre vocal master. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory, where she studied classical voice, with an emphasis in Linklater Technique. Meghan studied Shakespeare and classical acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

10-week Fall Semester Only: $1595
$1080 for 10 weekly 45-minute private lessons &
$515 for 10 weekly 60-minute group classes.
Full Year: (Fall/Winter/Spring): $4147
$2808 for 26 weekly 45-minute private lessons &
$1339 for 26 weekly 60-minute group classes
Extra Song Add-On: $450
Record an additional song at the end of the school year.
Group classes and private lesson days/ times will be scheduled to match students’ schedules. Classes will be grouped by age group. Typical class groupings will be ages 7-11, 12-18, 19-29, ages 30 & above.
