STEPHANIE
STEPHANIE has been a student at PTW for 5 years. She has done voice-overs and sung jingles for DKM. She is currently represented by the Cuzzins agency in Manhattan.
“I remember my first day. I didn’t want to take jazz because it was real hard the first day. But my teacher pulled me aside after my class and just talked to me and made me feel a lot better…so then I ended up taking all my classes.
My voice teacher has helped me tremendously in my voice. Now that I’ve been going to voice classes, I know how to support– I know so many things about my voice–how to project, how to sing with confidence. I know how to sing in a lot of different ways.
PTW has influenced my life in a huge way. I feel a lot more confident about how I present myself every day, in everything I do , because I’m a lot more outgoing with people. I have skills that I can use just anywhere, everywhere!”

“When Stephanie first started coming here, she needed a tape recorder, and she would tape the classes, and I would sometimes ask her “Could I listen to your classes?” That’s what really sold me on PTW–just listening to her teacher, how she spoke to each individual student. The way she respected each student, and she wanted them to know the meaning of every word they were singing, and she just took everything apart for them. It was masterful to hear the way she taught.
I think the difference here is that there is a right way to perform, there is a right way to stand, there is a right way to open your throat, and at PTW they respect the student whether the student is five or fifteen, to actually show them the right way and help them do it. Whereas at some of the other acting schools they just let them act and have fun, at PTW the production , the quality–once you see a PTW show–you’re watching a show! Whereas at some of the other schools, you’re seeing a school production– it’s quality at PTW. It’s just real education.”
